Poetry > NaPoWriMo 2013
This gallery uses heavly modified CSS and will only look right when you are using a fully CSS 3 compatible browser!
Please, if not impossible for some reason, always use the latest version of your browser! Really, there should be no reason at all to not update your browser, and you're making the life of thousands of web designers a lot easier by doing so.
If you're not sure if your browser is CSS 3 compatible, you can take a test at this site. If you score around 55% or more, everything should be fine. (Don't worry for the low score, a lot of the new CSS 3 features aren't implemented yet in all browsers.)
This gallery design should work fine with Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari and the Internet Explorer.
The design is now finished and should be error-free! If you encounter any issue, it would be very kind if you send me a note with the following information: Your browser, the version of your browser, and a screenshot of the problem (if it's a design issue).
This is the gallery for my contribution to the National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo). It's the first time that I participate, as I am not from the USA and didn't know about this literature project until now.
Below you can find information about my poems and my intention in writing them, the specific details are to be found under each of the poems.
Because it is my first time participating, I decided to do kind of more than actually required: I'm not only writing the poems, but I also try to fit a specific theme to each of them. Each of the poems is integrated into a picture which fits to its overall theme. By doing so, I want every poem to become further unique in its style and in the message it carries.
Every day, I will create a poem with one unique style and theme, so that hopefully, at the end of the month, there will be 30 poems with 30 different themes. Below you can also find a list of the days with the associated theme.
Also, in the description of each poem, I will reflect about the poem and the picture I have made for it, its theme, its style and corresponding topics. I will also tell about my inspiration for the making of the poem and my personal thoughts regarding it and its theme.
Of course, the final interpretation of each poem is always up to the reader, so my and your view have to correlate in no way (and will most likely not very often)! I hope you enjoy reading them all, and I hope that you will also reflect about them for some time!
Note: Generally, as said above, my themes are just my personal interpretation of each of the poems, and do not have to correlate with yours. They more serve as a sort of guideline, nothing more. I talk about each of the times in detail in the description of each of the poems.
Note: The progress is in a loosely chronological order. I do only include important things here, and only things i have already done. For anything current, check the news below!
29th of April
Unfortunately, due to me being ill at the moment (this is actually the first time I'm able to properly use my computer for around a week), combined with my final high school exams into which I currently am, I will not be able to complete my 30 poems in this month.
I already have themes and ideas for the other days, and, actually, have nearly finished the next 5 poems, but I'm not feeling well enough to work on them right now.
Sorry that I can't keep my promise, I hadn't expected getting that ill just now.
I'm still finishing that project of course, just not this month as it was intended.
Used CSS Templates
None, I've written every bit of it myself.
However, the initial design of the gallery was loosely based on BaB-Jane's Spring Night Gallery design, which also served as a rough orientation for me to get into deviantART's specific CSS structure.
